The lovely Jess at Collabosaurus invited me down to Showbox Coffee in Manly to check out the Wild Hearts launch, the new signature collection from Emma Kate Co. The collection is inspired by Emma's travels, and incorporates a serious sense of wanderlust amalgamating with tropical fruits, botanicals, coffee, and words of travel wisdom.
Emma was first and foremost a typographer and blogger - you've likely been one of the 25,000 people who follow her on Instagram because of it - and has since branched out into designing a stationary and lifestyle brand. Wednesday celebrated the official launch of the signature collection of the new brand, incorporating her typography and design work into it.

The collection is explained as being for "those who wander freely, adventure wildly, and love with abandon," all of which I think are such beautiful sentiments. Ones which I would like to follow and which you can find reflected in the collection clearly. Emma was inspired by the textiles of Istanbul’s Grand Bazaar, flea markets of Amsterdam and Australian botanicals from her Grandfather’s garden. So the work stems from both a very adventurous and personal place.
We enjoyed juice from Prod Juice, my favourite was the pineapple, mint and lemon grass but maybe that was just because I was avoiding holding anything bright pink by my whiter than white blazer! Lighting and floral decorations were brought in from the Posy Supply Co (a brilliant little venutre all of it's own!) and Electric Eyes (a new store in Narrabeen I'm itching to check out for myself). We heard sweet speeches from Emma and Jess, and watched the new promo video (which you can find on the website here: ). I couldn't help myself, of course, and took home a notebook, and cards for two special someones.
It was great to get down to a launch, you could feel how much Emma had put into it - work and soul - and as always it was lovely to meet some more like-minded people. Sometimes I get pretty socially anxious and of course miss people back home, so I guess I'm kinda proud of myself for throwing myself into another situation where I knew noone. Go me ;)
